We diagnose & repair electronic faults that others will not find...

Modern cars with Catalytic Converters no longer use carburettors to provide fuel control required by their engine management systems. Every new car since 1993 (K Reg) has come equipped with fuel injection of one kind or another, controlled by a computer.

No more DIY !

Due to the increased level of sophistication of the fuel injected car, the days of DIY 'tuning' are long gone. The average motorist cannot afford the specialist equipment needed to keep a fuel-injected,  electronically controlled car in top condition.

Problems

Most people don't realise they have an problem until the car fails the MoT, the engine management warning light comes on or the car starts to run badly. Then they are unsure of how to proceed. As Diagnostic specialists, we have invested thousands of pounds in equipment and training to ensure that we can solve your fuel-injection and diagnostic problems. We are Autodiagnos agents (see autodiagnos.com) and ASNU fuel injection systems specialists, so we can help you! We are also stockists for top quality components.

Charges

We have a structured policy with all our diagnostic work. There is an initial charge of £45 made to cover the 'basic checks'. For this, we will carry out a basic inspection and check to make sure the car has been serviced correctly. These checks complete, we will begin diagnostic work by connecting the electronic handset if necessary. We will then proceed until the fault is found, but we will keep you closely informed of progress.

Diagnostic work is highly specialised, needing expertise, technical backup and expensive equipment. We therefore charge slightly more for this service than our normal repair rate, but we are confident of finding the problem. Having found the fault, we will offer you the most cost-effective means to solve it.

Typical Faults

Some typical examples of faults we see are:

  • Vauxhall Corsa EGR valve fault
  • Vauxhall Vectra Engine light on (Faulty crank angle sensor)
  • Airbag lights on
  • MoT failure on emissions (Failed Lambda or Oxygen sensor, possible failed Cat)

The above problems are generally out of reach of the DIY mechanic.
